Learn thething once.Then stopdreading it.
One on one training in the computer itself, the Google and Microsoft software everyone expects you to know, and social media for small businesses. In your home or at your business, at your pace, in plain language, with notes to keep. If the program you are stuck in is not on the list, ask anyway.
The basics nobody sat you down and taught
Files and folders
Where things actually go, why you cannot find that document, and a filing system you will still understand in a year.
Getting around
Windows or Mac, the settings that matter, and the shortcuts that save you an hour a week.
Passwords and safety
A password manager set up for you, two factor where it counts, and how to spot a scam before you click.
Backups
Photos and documents backed up automatically, so a dropped laptop is an inconvenience rather than a disaster.
Classes at 55+ and senior living
Group sessions in the activity room for independent living, retirement and assisted living communities. Phones, photographs, video calls with family, and spotting scams. Booked by the community, no contract.
Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and the rest
Gmail
Labels, filters, search, and getting an inbox back under control instead of scrolling for the one email.
Drive
Storing, finding, and sharing files, and understanding who can see what before you send the link.
Docs
Writing, formatting, comments, and sharing a document for someone else to edit without emailing versions back and forth.
Sheets
Basic formulas, sorting and filtering, and simple charts. Enough to keep a real list without fear.
Calendar
Appointments, reminders, sharing a calendar, and inviting people so it actually lands in their diary.
Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
Windows
Settings, updates, storage, and making the machine work the way you want rather than the way it arrived.
Outlook
Folders, rules, calendar, and contacts, set up so the same email does not get handled three times.
Word
Formatting that stays put, templates for the documents you send often, and printing without surprises.
Excel
Formulas, sorting, filtering, and simple charts. Then the shortcuts that stop it being a chore.
Enough to run it yourself, properly
For owners who know they should be posting and have no interest in becoming an influencer. We set it up, agree what gets posted, and make it a twenty minute a week job.
Choosing platforms
Where your customers actually are. For most local businesses that is two platforms, not six.
Profiles done right
Bios, hours, links, and images sized correctly so the page looks like a real business.
Google Business Profile
The listing that decides whether you show up on the map. Usually the highest return hour we will spend.
Reviews
Asking for them without being awkward, and replying to a bad one without making it worse.
A posting rhythm
A simple weekly plan and a scheduler, so it happens without you thinking about it every day.
What to post
Photos of the work, before and after, staff, and the questions customers keep asking. No dancing required.
Any software you are stuck in
The sections above are what people ask for most, not a limit. If you are wrestling with a program that is not listed, say so when you book and I will learn what I need to before the session.
Your industry software
Booking systems, point of sale, practice management, property or job tracking. The tools your trade runs on, taught on your own account with your own data.
Photos, files and staying organised
Getting photos off your phone and somewhere safe, sorting years of files into folders you can actually find, and setting up backups so nothing is ever lost again.
Photos, design and video
Canva, Photoshop, Lightroom or whatever you have already paid for. Enough to make what you need without hiring someone.
Teaching your staff
One session at your business covering the specific things your team keeps getting wrong, in whichever software you already use.
Three steps, no jargon
Tell me where you are stuck
Any level is fine. Most people are further along than they think and are missing two or three specific things.
We sit down together
At your kitchen table or at your office, on your own computer. You drive and I guide, which is the only way it sticks.
You keep the notes
Every session ends with a one page written summary in plain language, so you are not relying on memory.
Hourly, and cheaper than the alternatives
One rate per hour and one trip charge, told to you before I set off. The rates are deliberately competitive for the area, and a second person at the same address learns alongside you at no extra cost.
I round to the nearest hour. Ninety minutes is charged as one hour. An hour and forty is charged as two. No packages to buy up front, no memberships, and the written notes I leave behind are not billed.
In person only, at your home or your business. Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Richardson, Carrollton, Prosper, Wylie and Murphy at the standard trip charge, and the wider metroplex at the outer rate.
What you will not be charged for
I am not good with computers. Will I keep up?
Yes. We go at your speed and repeat anything as often as you like. There is no syllabus to get through and nothing to fall behind on.
Can you teach my staff instead of me?
Often that is the better option. A two hour workshop at your office covers the specific things your team keeps getting wrong.
Do you teach over video instead?
No. Lessons are in person on your own machine, because half of what trips people up is their specific setup rather than the software in general.
Will you just do it for me instead?
I can, but the point of this service is that you stop needing me. If you would rather it was handled for you, the IT page covers that.
Do you teach groups at retirement communities?
Yes, regularly. A session in the activity room for a dozen residents, or a standing visit where people sign up for one on one time at their own place on the property. Communities usually book it directly and I can provide insurance details and pass any background check you require.
